Ingredients
For 12 servings
- 500g sausage meat (or squeeze out of sausages)
- 1 small onion, finely grated
- 1 tsp dried sage
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 sheet ready-rolled puff pastry
- 1 egg, beaten
- Sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 200°C (180°C fan). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- 2
Mix the sausage meat with the grated onion, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- 3
Unroll the pastry and cut it in half lengthways so you have two long strips.
- 4
Divide the sausage mixture between the two strips, shaping it into a log down the centre of each.
- 5
Brush one edge of the pastry with beaten egg, then roll the pastry over the filling and press to seal. Place seam-side down.
- 6
Cut each roll into 6 pieces. Score the tops with a knife, brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle with sesame seeds if using.
- 7
Bake for 20-25 minutes until puffed up and deep golden brown.
