Chocolate Chip Cookies
Crispy on the edges, chewy in the middle - these are the perfect chocolate chip cookies. Great for baking with little ones.

Ingredients
For 24 servings
- 200g plain flour
- 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 115g unsalted butter, softened
- 100g caster sugar
- 100g light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 200g chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 190°C (170°C fan). Line two baking trays with parchment paper.

Whisk together the flour, bicarbonate of soda, and salt in a bowl.

In a large bowl, cream the butter and both sugars until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just combined.

Fold in the chocolate chips.

Scoop tablespoon-sized balls onto the prepared trays, spacing them 5cm apart.

Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden around the edges but still soft in the centre.

Leave on the tray for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
